In an alternate Earth during the ‘Golden Age of Pirates,’ the ruthless rule the seas, vying for the mythical ‘One Piece’ treasure left by the legendary Gold Roger. Young Monkey D. Luffy, who gains rubber-like powers from a devil fruit, dreams of assembling his crew, claiming One Piece, and becoming the Pirate King. Upon coming of age, he departs from Foosha Village in East Blue, embarking on a grand adventure to seize his destiny.

After famed pirate Gold Roger’s death, pirates search for his hidden treasure, the “One Piece.” Novice pirate Monkey D. Luffy, with elastic powers from a Devil Fruit, defeats cruel Alvida and saves Koby. They seek a map to the treacherous Grand Line, freeing pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro, aided by cat burglar Nami. They escape with the treasure, leaving Koby to join the Marines.
Luffy, Zoro, and Nami are imprisoned by Buggy the Clown, who holds Orange Town captive. Luffy, inspired by his idol Shanks, swallows a map before capture. Buggy tries to drown Luffy, but Zoro and Nami rescue him. Luffy defeats Buggy, freeing the town. Meanwhile, Koby joins the Marines, and Nami contacts someone about the map. Flashbacks reveal Luffy’s childhood adventures, including his encounter with Shanks and the “Gum-Gum” Devil Fruit.
The Straw Hat Crew, in search of a new ship, visits Gecko Islands in Syrup Village. They meet Usopp, a rowdy local, who introduces them to Kaya, a sickly rich girl who might sell them a ship. While forming new bonds, Klahadore’s true identity as Kuro of the Black Cat pirates is revealed, leading to a confrontation. Koby, now with the Marines, arrives to help, while Buggy changes his target to Luffy, and Garp keeps a close eye on Koby.
Zoro recalls his past and Kuina’s death while trapped in a well. Usopp seeks help for a poisoned Luffy but is deceived by Kuro. The Straw Hats defeat Kuro’s crew, rescue Luffy, and gain a new ship from Kaya. Usopp joins the crew, and Garp’s identity as Luffy’s grandfather is revealed, setting the stage for more adventures.
Luffy’s cannonball prowess surprises the crew during a Marine escape. They stumble upon Baratie, a floating restaurant, where chef Sanji shines. Unsettled bills lead to Luffy working for owner Zeff. Garp hires Warlord Mihawk to catch Luffy. Zoro challenges Mihawk but loses, forging their determination. Nami wavers but stays. Mihawk spares them, and Zoro falls unconscious
Zeff cares for Zoro’s grave injuries, unsure if he’ll survive. Nami confides her tendency to push away friends, sparking hope. Sanji shares his dream of discovering the legendary All Blue. Koby discovers Luffy’s link to Garp but decides to capture him. Arlong and his crew invade Baratie, holding Buggy’s head hostage. Nami, an Arlong member, gives Luffy the Grand Line map and leaves. Luffy regains purpose when Zoro awakens. He vows to find Nami. Sanji joins the Straw Hats. With Luffy’s revelation about Buggy’s head, they plan their next move.
Luffy’s crew arrives at Conomi Island, finding Arlong’s oppression in Coco Village. Nami’s adoptive sister, Nojiko, reveals their tragic history with Arlong. Garp questions Zeff about Luffy’s whereabouts. Koby confides in Helmeppo about Garp’s relation to Luffy. Arlong pays off Marine Captain Nezumi and vows to annihilate humans. Nami amasses 100 million berries to save her village, but Arlong seizes it. Desperate, Nami turns to Luffy, who pledges help. The crew witnesses Arlong’s attack on Coco Village.
Coco Village unites as the Straw Hat Crew battles Arlong and his Fishmen Pirates at Arlong Park. Luffy confronts Arlong and topples a tower filled with Nami’s work, defeating him. Garp and the Marines arrive, but Luffy resists. They clash, with Garp prevailing but allowing Luffy to chase his dream. Nezumi puts a 30 million berry bounty on Luffy. Luffy parts ways with Koby, and Garp trains Koby and Helmeppo. The crew declares their Straw Hat Pirates’ aspirations. Luffy’s wanted poster attracts attention but is burned by a smoky Marine captain.
